Lynne Van Dam holds a B.A. Degree from Brigham Young University in Theatre Arts and earned an M.A. Degree with honors from the University of Utah in Ballet and Modern Dance, with a multiple emphasis on the Creative Process in Theatre, Psychology and Literature.  She danced professionally with the Dancers Workshop of San Francisco, and the Ririe/Woodbury Dance Company of Salt Lake City.  She has worked on the crew on a number of films and produced short educational films and short works for TV.  Her most recent acting role was in a made for TV film, I’ll See You In My Dreams , starring Aidan Quinn and directed by Graeme Clifford.

Unwittingly stumble into one of Lynne’s classes and you may see a class so focused and quiet in support of a classmate exploring the depth and pathos of an intense drama or you may see outrageous laughter in support of comic tomfoolery goings on.  You’ll want to join in. That’s okay.  Do drop in because Lynne believes that actors are people who open their hearts to show their audiences those wonderful and awesome parts of all of us.  Actors are risk takers.  From her point of view, it is an exciting, challenging and honorable profession.  She is a working actor, a member of Screen Actors Guild and has been teaching acting for TV/Film here at the University for the last fifteen years. She looks forward each semester to the richness and mystery of what she will learn from her new students and to the depth of growth she sees in returning students.
