2019 Film Pitch Competition

Join us for the second edition of the F&MAD Pitch Competition on November 22nd at 4pm in the FMAB Auditorium.

The students enrolled in Producing and Directing (Capstone course) will pitch their projects to an amazing panel of judges. Come to support our students in this nerve-racking competition.

At the end of the competition the jury members will grant the “Grand Jury Award”to the best pitch. There will also be a “Peers Award.”

This year’s film pitch jury members are:

Patrick Hubley

Patrick Hubleyis a 20-year film festival veteran and non-profit leader. He has worked with Sundance Institute, Toronto International Film Festival, and as a consultant with the CineVegas Film Festival and the Dubai International Film Festival. He is currently the Executive Director of the non-profit Utah Film Center where he oversees the organization’s year-round film, education, and artist support programs as well as the general operations and administration of the organization.

MP Cunningham

MP Cunningham was born and raised in Hughson, California. Most recently, MP wrote, directed, produced and starred in his original series AGUA DONKEYS for Jeffrey Katzenberg’s new streaming platform Quibi, based on his short film by the same name. AGUA DONKEYS is produced in collaboration with Funny Or Die. Before that, he developed his original series THE ALMOND PRINCE with Warner Bros TV. One of his earlier short films FORD CLITAURUS was an official selection for Slamdance in 2017. MP has also directed a series of commercials for Duracell. MP currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Sage Bennet

Film director and photographer Sage Bennett studied film at the University of Utah and at the Art Institute of Chicago. Namesake Content represents her as a director in the US, and Boogie Nights represents her in France. Her work--dreamlike, ethereal, feminine, honest, and oftentimes surreal--has premiered at festivals in Chicago, LA, Salt Lake City, and elsewhere. Sage is passionate about making art that brings people together through shared human experience.
