Utah Film Center is seeking an individual who is eager to learn about nonprofit arts education programs, arts curriculum development, classroom management, and event management. The intern will provide critical support to the operations of our weekly classroom workshops, community events, and Tumbleweeds Film Festival.

This will be a hands-on introduction to the basics of arts education management and outreach. The ideal intern will be passionate about K-12 arts education, film appreciation and media literacy, and interested in the nonprofit arts world.

Roles and Responsibilities:
● Assist the Media Education department in the day-to-day operations of our classroom workshops, teacher professional development, and other special projects as assigned.
● Assist the Media Education department in the development of hands-on K-12 workshops that meet core curriculum standards for use at community events and screenings.
● Assist the Media Education department in the event management, operations, and organization of our annual Tumbleweeds Film Festival in May 2022.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Prior experience with event management and organization preferred.
● Familiarity with K-12 and/or arts education curriculum development preferred.
● Familiarity with effective classroom management skills.
● Knowledge of online meeting platforms (Zoom, Google, etc.).

This position reports to the Education Manager and will be evaluated on attitude, time management, quality of work, and innovation. Additionally, this position will also be evaluated on the success in meeting goals and objectives developed at the beginning of the internship period. Weekly meetings for guidance are required.
