Ha Na Lee received her Ph.D. from the Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media (DXARTS) at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and an MFA from Stony Brook University in NY. Her artwork focuses on portraying an individual’s experience of psychological and physical trauma in a poetic narrative in the mediums of video, new media, installation art, and experimental film. Her recent research explores experimental narrative forms by creating bodily and cinematic experiences through the use of emerging technologies in interactive immersive environments. 
Lee’s films have screened in the United States and internationally in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the Netherlands. Lee exhibited at Currents: The Santa Fe International New Media Art Festival in 2014 and 2015, and SXSW in 2018, as well as numerous other solo and group exhibitions. She received TEMPO2017 grant from the city of Austin, GAP grant at Artist Trust in Seattle in 2015. She received the dARTboard award from the Vilcek Foundation in New York and was the recipient of the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, the Goldberger Graduate Research Fellowship at Stony Brook University in New York, and others
